The Manhattan Declaration iPhone app was created by the founders of the Manhattan Declaration project, in which Chuck Colson initiated. Almost half a million ministering leaders and Christians have signed the Manhattan Declaration.
The Manhattan Declaration simply states that marriage is God’s design, between one man and one woman – a biblical statement that has been around for thousands of years.
This action is the first by a large corporation to explicitly block religions information to the public, with the purpose of controlling information and violating the freedom of speech that is a foundational principle of our nation.
Controlling information is not an idea that American's are used to. This type of limited freedom of speech is usually found in communist’s nations like Russia, Cuba and China.
On December 8th, the founders of the Manhattan Declaration re-filed the iPhone app with nothing except the Declaration and the opportunity to sign showing support.
Shockingly Apple turned them down again, with a letter saying that the app violated their policy and was found to be offensive.
If you like Apples' products but don’t want to see the company partnering in the cultural war against Christianity, consider calling (408-996-1010) or email Steve Jobs (sjobs@apple.com) at Apple today and tell him of your displeasure.
Ironically, the third statement in the Manhattan Declaration is about religious liberty, in which Steve Jobs and Apple apparently do not support.
Here are the principles of the Manhattan Declaration;
“In this declaration we affirm: 1) the profound, inherent, and equal dignity of every human being as a creature fashioned in the very image of God, possessing inherent rights of equal dignity and life; 2) marriage as a conjugal union of man and woman, ordained by God from the creation, and historically understood by believers and non-believers alike, to be the most basic institution in society and; 3) religious liberty, which is grounded in the character of God, the example of Christ, and the inherent freedom and dignity of human beings created in the divine image.”
What this means is that Apple believes that Christianity is offensive and anyone living by Christian values does not deserve the same right to express their convictions on the iPhone as those that hold different religion beliefs.
Apple is openly persecuting Christianity.
