Censoring The Truth Always Results In The Truth Being Revealed In Other Ways

Persecution is increasing in America and there is good reason to be concerned about it; but, there is also good news.

We should do everything we can to stop those that are using the government to criminalize Christianity because it will limit the teaching of the gospel and bring much suffering.

But in the end, persecution does not change the truth.  With or without persecution, the truth remains.  When truth is censored, it just spreads in different ways.

When a culture increases its persecution of Christianity, it creates new opportunities to make the truth known in various ways.

For example, the Christian bakers Aaron and Melissa Klein, who are being persecuted, have been given a national platform to tell the world about Christ.  The gag order put on them to stop testifying about Christ has caused even more media attention about their Christian beliefs.

Millions have heard about their testimony because of the persecution against them.  Truth cannot be proven false.

The only option for those that hate the truth is to censor it.  But hiding the truth does not cause truth to disappear; rather, it causes truth to be revealed in other forms.  The stories of those that are willing to give up everything for the truth reveal the tremendous value it has.

Truth is more valuable than silver and gold.  (1 Peter 1:18-19)

“The law from your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.” - Psalm 119:72

Those that get a chance to publicly testify that they would rather have the truth than keep their business or home reveal to the world just how valuable the truth is.

When the value of truth is made known, people start to ask questions because they didn’t realize there is something more valuable than gold and silver.

“But where can wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding? "Man does not know its value, Nor is it found in the land of the living .. Pure gold cannot be given in exchange for it, Nor can silver be weighed as its price.” – Job 28:12-15

The wisdom of the Lord is not naturally known to men because they don’t know that it exists.

“Where then does wisdom come from? And where is the place of understanding? "Thus it is hidden from the eyes of all living and concealed from the birds of the sky.” – Job 28:21-22

When people publicly testify that the truth is more valuable to them than their possessions, the world pays attention and some go after it, seeking out what they realize they don’t have.

The increase in persecution puts the courage of Christians on display - showing the world who God is and making him known among men.  Censoring the truth always results in revealing the truth in other ways.
