Gateway Church Holds Grand Opening In St Joseph Saturday Night

It was over a year ago that Pastor Bruce Tessen found a building in St. Joseph to start a new church.

He was looking for a place in town, with easy access and large enough to hold 50+ people.

After several months of prayer, the Lord led him to the building next to the Post Office, which was previously used by Central Care before they moved to their new location within the new Coborns in St. Joseph.

With a little remodeling, the doors were open July last summer. Since then, the church has grown with two additional remodeling projects that have expanding the church into nearly half the entire building.

Somewhere in the busy schedule of Pastor Bruce, who is also the Associate Pastor of Jubilee Worship Center in St. Cloud, he found the time to host the churches Grand Opening to let the entire community know what is going on.

Gateway church of St. Joseph will be celebrating their Grand Opening Saturday night, Sept 17th at 6:00pm, in which they have invited the entire St. Joseph community to come and visit.

Gateway church is a non-denominational Christian church focused on telling people about Jesus Christ. The motto on their bulletin reads “Helping people find the Way”, in which Jesus is the Way.

It is a blessing to see God opening new churches in Central MN.  In recent years, there have been several new churches opened in surrounding towns like St. Cloud, Sartell and Avon.

The core values of Gateway Church are listed in their welcome brochure.  Here are a few;

  • Jesus is our Exclusive Foundation (1 Cor 3:11)
  • Loving God and Others is our Passionate Priority (Matt 22:37-39)
  • God's Word is our Final Authority (2 Tim 3:16-17)
  • God's Manifest Presence is our Deep Desire (Psalm 42:1-2)
  • Worship is our Joyful Response (John 4:23-24)

Services are Saturday nights at 6:00pm, but they would like to add Sunday services in the near future. They started with Saturday night services because the beginning families wanted a Saturday night service.

They are also starting Wednesday night small group services Sept 24th - with a series called "GodQuest" from Sean McDowell, son of Christian author Josh McDowell.

Praise God that his people are ministering to the St. Joseph community and his Word is active and alive. (Hebrews 4:12-13)

The God Chasers

Do you want God? Not the history of His path but Him? If so then you might be a God Chaser according to the author. The God Chasers seeks to reach those who hunger for God's manifest presence and whose endurance to boldly pursue Him will lead to heartfelt revival.

Don’t Waste Your Life

Most people spend their lives on trivial diversions, seeking to gain comfort and pleasure for themselves. But Jesus said, "Whoever loses his life for my sake will save it." If the path to God-exalting joy and purpose is to "lose" your life rather than to waste it, then what are you waiting for? Some people may be offended by some things that he says - that simply going to work and raising your kids aren't all that God has called you to. There's a greater calling to consider. In conclusion, Piper makes his appeal to the reader "in the name of Jesus to wake up, and enlarge your heart, and stretch your mind, and spread your wings." For when all is said and done, what really matters is that those who are lost are lost no more.

One God, One Truth: The Clear and Simple Evidence

It gives definitive and accurate data on why the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the one true God of the Universe. Not only does it give evidence on the accuracy of the Bible but it gives proof of the errors in other religions in a sensitive and loving manner. It is not a book focused on putting down people of other faiths but rather a loving approach to help others recognize the one true God. I highly recommend this book to every Christian who has people in their life that they want to impact with the truth.

Radical: Taking Back Your Faith from the American Dream

David Platt reflects a wider move of God through which He is stirring His people to live radically for Him to finish discipline all nations (Mt. 24:14 and Mt 28:18-20). Platt urges us to discover Jesus as our sole treasure, to lay aside everything that keeps us from pursuing Him above all else, and to realize that "It's Not About Me." This is the complete opposite message that the world is telling us, that we are the center of the universe and we should live for our personal desires and ambitions without a care in the world for anyone else. The maturity of evil is complete selfishness, while the maturity of righteousness is complete abandonment of selfishness. The harvest is ready.
