God Is At Work All Around Us

By: Curtis Ophoven 0 Comments   12/22/2010

God is at work in our lives every day, because He is a personal God.  We may not always recognize His influence, but it is important to realize that He is actively involved in our lives on a daily basis.

God does not just come alive at Christmas time or when we need Him the most.  He directs our steps and knows about our situations and circumstances that we find ourselves in.

“In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.” - Proverbs 16:9

Sometimes it’s very difficult to remain conscious of God’s influence in our lives.  So take this as a reminder that God is always involved in our lives and always working things out for the good of those who love Him.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. “ - Romans 8:28

So take this to heart: God has good intentions for us, to grow us and shape us into maturity so that we will receive all that he has for us.  As a father trains his son for life and tests his skills along the way, so the Lord trains us up and tests our faith along the way.

“Because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.” – James 1:3

So when you face a challenging situation, remember this and take comfort in the peace of the Lord that surpasses understanding.  Allow the situation to build your faith as you turn to God for wisdom, trusting only in Him for a solution.

Sometimes we need to constantly remind ourselves of the blessing God has given us.  The testimonies of His provision and protection are unforgettable.  It’s a good idea to write the amazing things that God has done in your life and keep the list handy, so they can be used to build our faith in times of need.  Each one of us has experiences that have changed our lives beyond anything this world has to offer.  Spend some time in the next few weeks remembering and thanking God for what He has done in your life.

Merry Christmas

The Purpose Driven Life

The spiritual premise in The Purpose-Driven Life is that there are no accidents---God planned everything and everyone. Therefore, every human has a divine purpose, according to God's master plan. Formatted in 40 chapters, makes it an excellent tool for study groups to read and discuss. It emphasizes the importance of Christian character development and of becoming an active member of a community of believers.

The Case for Christ

The purpose of this book is to determine if there's credible evidence that Jesus of Nazareth really is the Son of God. Lee Strobel interviews a dozen scholars, with doctorates from Cambridge, Princeton, Brandeis, and other top-flight institutions, who are recognized authorities on Jesus. The evidence is astounding.

What’s So Great About Christianity

This book is a response to the culture and media that continues to lie about Christianity. This is a passionate and intellectual presentation of the strengths and historical truths of Christianity. No other religion has brought the world greater rewards than Christianity, because no other religion contains a greater love given to the world by its creator. Without the unquestionable result Christianity, the world would not have been able to sustain itself and would have already been overtaken by death. We live in a time when atheism is attacking Christianity. This book reminds us that Christianity sustains the world.

The God Chasers

Do you want God? Not the history of His path but Him? If so then you might be a God Chaser according to the author. The God Chasers seeks to reach those who hunger for God's manifest presence and whose endurance to boldly pursue Him will lead to heartfelt revival.
