MidWest Apostolic Prophetic Conference 2011, Times of Refreshing

By: Curtis Ophoven 0 Comments   1/14/2011

Jubilee Worship Center in St. Cloud will be hosting this years’ Midwest Apostolic Prophetic Conference.

The conference is scheduled for January 26-29, with special speakers Dr. M. Leon Walters, Ron Burhoff, and Larry Alberts.

For more details about the conference and how to register, visit here.  This is the third year that this conference will be hosted in St. Cloud at Jubilee.

This is an excellent conference.  I'll give you three good reasons to attend this conference.

1.       Seek Jesus

The Lord told us to “draw close to me and I will draw close to you” (James 4:8).  This is a time to seek the Lord and ask for His wisdom as He told us to (James 4:2), so that He will intervene in our lives and He will direct our paths.

This is also a time to praise the Lord and delight in His commands so that He will bless us and our children will be mighty in the land. (Psalm 112:1-2)

2.      Seek Unity

The weakness of the Christian majority in America, which gives our enemies an advantage, is our inability to unite and focus our energy.  This conference provides visionary leadership and strategy that help unify the body of Christ, which the Apostle Paul told us to strive for.

“Now I plead with you brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” - I Corinthians 1:10

This is not to say that there are not doctrinal differences within Christianity that are worthy of their discourse, but to say that we are also commanded to be united.

As the enemies of the Lord use our isolation against us, the need for unity within Christianity will continue to increase and has already become neccessary to stop giving up ground.

3.      Be Encouraged and Gain Confidence

The gift of prophecy is not something to be afraid of, but to go after.  If you read about the gifts of the Spirit that Paul talks about in 1 Corinthians 12, you will find that he tells us that of all the gifts – go after prophecy.

“Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy. … the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort ... to edify the church” - 1 Corinthians 14: 1-2

Paul tells us to eagerly desire the gift of prophecy, which is to strengthen, encourage and comfort each other.  In fact Revelation 19:10 tells us that “the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy".  So whenever we testify of Jesus we are strengthening, encouraging and comforting, which is the essence of prophecy.

The gift of prophecy builds our faith upon the only foundation that can be built upon.  “For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” – 1 Corinthians 3:11

Prophecy is not about adding anything to the message of Jesus Christ, but to testify of the message of Jesus Christ.

I hope to see you at the conference!

One God, One Truth: The Clear and Simple Evidence

It gives definitive and accurate data on why the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the one true God of the Universe. Not only does it give evidence on the accuracy of the Bible but it gives proof of the errors in other religions in a sensitive and loving manner. It is not a book focused on putting down people of other faiths but rather a loving approach to help others recognize the one true God. I highly recommend this book to every Christian who has people in their life that they want to impact with the truth.

The God Catchers

Feel too grown-up to play hide-and-seek? Then, according to Tenney, you could be missing out on the chance to "catch" the God who eagerly awaits the childlike search of the heart and soul. Tenney follows up his bestseller The God Chasers by once again asserting that God longs for his children to chase him, and desires their emptiness to be filled with his presence.

Hard To Believe

Popular perception of Jesus Christ is that of a tempered, genteel man who walked the earth, offering nuggets of wisdom to His followers. But what we sometimes fail to recognize is that although Jesus Christ offered a message of forgiveness, He also spoke challenging, demanding words about what being a follower of Christ requires.

Fasting for Spiritual Breakthrough

Fasting is more than an exercize in food deprivation. Towns gives you clear, practical FOCUS for your fast. Whether making critical decisions, breaking an addiction, or dealing with depression. Fasting for Spiritual Breakthrough is a thought-provoking book on one of the least understood--but most powerful--disciplines of Christianity. Most believers know about fasting, but few of us really understand the wonderful benefits that come when we fast with purpose and direction.
