Scripture tell us that someone that wins souls in wise (Proverbs 11:30) and that we should always be looking for souls to win (Mark 16:15).  If we are going to take back our city for God, we need to learn how to win souls.

Granite City Baptist Church will be holding a Missions & Soul Winning Conference from Sunday, March 13th at 6pm and Monday, March 14th - Wednesday, March 16th at 6:30pm each evening.

There will be missionaries from Africa, Wales and Brazil sharing their experiences.  Each evening Pastor Steve Anderson will also be speaking about his experiences as a church planter in Africa.  Child care will be available.

This is a great opportunity to gain some knowledge about how to witness to the lost in our daily lives and in the process learn more about God.

The Bible tells us “Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. (1 John 4:20)”

The wages of sin is death and we know God will punch the unrepentant because He is just.  Time is short and in many cases we only have a few moments with the people around us to share the gospel.

If we say we believe what the Bible says, than how can we not be eager to love our brothers and sisters whom we are with by sharing the gospel with them?

Perhaps the greatest benefit to sharing the gospel and experiencing the miracle of seeing someone become born again is getting to know God.  We all like to sing songs like - ‘open our eyes Lord, we want see you, open our hearts Lord, we want to know you’ – but if we are truly eager to get to know more about God, the process of sharing the gospel is a great way.

The entire process of praying for the person, researching verses to help explain the gospel to them, watching them ask questions and sharing your testimony with them will grow your relationship with God and teach you many things about Him.

Rejoice in the Lord, as the angels rejoice when one sinner repents.

“Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” (Luke 15:10)

Why You Can’t Stay Silent: A Biblical Mandate to Shape Our Culture

Tom Minnery believes that Christians not only have a mandate to proclaim the gospel, but to see it exemplified in society as well. He believes that we are not really forced with choosing one or the other: either evangelize or do social reform. He says we can and should do both simultaneously. He refutes arguments that Christians shouldn't get involved in "the world" and that the church's primary responsibility is evangelism rather than social activism. The author emphasizes that for too long the church has remained silent regarding the moral decay surrounding it.

How Christianity Made the Modern World

The books shows how through century after century, Bible-believing Christians put their faith into action to help those who were unable to help themselves. In an age where Christians are often marginalized and where secular reporters with their warped anti-Christ agenda decry much of what our forefather did or even deny the West's Christian heritage, then this book is refreshing, life-giving and invigorating rain from heaven, soaked in facts, history, testimony and personal observation in country after country and place after place. Christianity is truly responsible for the success of the modern world.

One God, One Truth: The Clear and Simple Evidence

It gives definitive and accurate data on why the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the one true God of the Universe. Not only does it give evidence on the accuracy of the Bible but it gives proof of the errors in other religions in a sensitive and loving manner. It is not a book focused on putting down people of other faiths but rather a loving approach to help others recognize the one true God. I highly recommend this book to every Christian who has people in their life that they want to impact with the truth.

Radical: Taking Back Your Faith from the American Dream

David Platt reflects a wider move of God through which He is stirring His people to live radically for Him to finish discipline all nations (Mt. 24:14 and Mt 28:18-20). Platt urges us to discover Jesus as our sole treasure, to lay aside everything that keeps us from pursuing Him above all else, and to realize that "It's Not About Me." This is the complete opposite message that the world is telling us, that we are the center of the universe and we should live for our personal desires and ambitions without a care in the world for anyone else. The maturity of evil is complete selfishness, while the maturity of righteousness is complete abandonment of selfishness. The harvest is ready.
