More People Are Willing To Reach Out To The Lost In The St. Cloud Area

Within the St. Cloud area I’m noticing more outreach is taking place. It was such a blessing to see that many churches and ministries had booths at the Benton County Fair.

There were at least five the day I was there and probably more were there throughout the week. Some were getting very creative, one even used Psalm Reading…instead of a palm reading.

Now more than ever I sense the power to be witnesses for Jesus Christ. It says in Acts 1:8 - “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

We could look at this verse and consider St. Cloud our Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria could be the surrounding cities within this region. We don’t need to stop there, I believe we should reach out to those within our sphere of influence and if led by the Holy Spirit beyond our state and country.

We are His witnesses as it states in Is. 48:10 “You are My witnesses,” says the Lord,” And My servant whom I have chosen, That you may know and believe Me, And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, Nor shall there be after Me.” We are all called to be His witnesses and declare His kingdom.

There are many ways we can share the gospel of Jesus Christ. I recently discovered a new method that is very effective. It is called the One Minute Witness. There was training at Jubilee Worship Center over the summer and we had the opportunity to utilize what we learned at a nearby gas station.

I was so blessed with joy that day and knew that this tool could really help motivate the church to reach the lost. The reason it’s so effective is because it helps you to overcome the fear of rejection and gives you something to say. Many times people will not step out and share their story with anyone because of this.

It’s also important to pray for compassion for the lost because it will help us to overcome the fear too. If you are interested in learning this look up the information on this website: this approach is about planting seeds, not leading people into a prayer of salvation. But you could definitely lead anybody to do that if they are interested in learning more. This method works best with strangers.

Another approach that is effective to use with neighbors is, Three Story Evangelism. With this approach it takes time to develop relationships and the key to use is listening and offer to do whatever interests them. You start by hearing their story, then share yours and when share God’s story. The website for this is:

My favorite approach to witnessing is the idea that we are all ministers and it’s not just the pastor’s job to share the gospel, this is called the Market Place Anointing. With this new mindset we can all share what God is doing even in the workplace. The Lord has strategically placed us all in the community and we need to allow him to use us in our sphere of influence. The key is to pray for your work place for God to bless it and be open for opportunities to talk about Him. Then when you feel led ask what their greatest need is and offer to pray for them. Finally, when the Lord answers your prayers declare that the kingdom of God is there.  Ministry in the marketplace

Of course there are so many materials that can be handed out to family and friends. There are tracts, books, tapes, CD’s, DVD’s, etc… The list goes on and on. Today with the media and everything online we can send people to specific websites for information. I love Ray Comforts documentaries. He made one about the Beatles called Genius that could be watched on-line or purchased: here

The most important thing to do is be Spirit led and allow the Lord to speak through you…Remember the full gospel is good news so use love and compassion (don’t forget to smile). After all Jesus is the way to eternal life. Who wouldn’t want that?  Our slate can be wiped clean and the God of the universe desires relationship with us. Then He’ll help us from the moment we receive Him and never leave us or forsake us. Ask God for a message that declares the full gospel. We need the full gospel now not the watered down version.

When People Are Big and God is Small: Overcoming Peer Pressure, Codependency, and the Fear of Man

Welch has written an excellent book on the need for us to realize how great God really is and how we need to stop fearing other people so much. The focus is to have a greater healthy fear of God to the point that other people have less power and control over our lives. This book calls us to deny ourselves, to crucify our ungodly desires for popularity, fame and good opinions of man – so that we can experience the abundant life that intended for us. The Christian worldview is revolutionary because it states that we are not god and He is, any attempt to become god is futile.
