Pro-Life Support Surge Around the World, As House Votes to Defund Planned Parenthood

By: Curtis Ophoven 0 Comments   2/22/2011

Just a few days ago, the U.S. House of Representatives -- by an overwhelming majority vote of 240 to 185 -- voted to defund Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion chain in America.

The vote stripped taxpayer funding from Planned Parenthood, so that millions of pro-life taxpayers no longer are forced to fund abortions.

Here is a video of Congressman Mike Pence (R- Indiana) introducing the Amendment to stop the funding of Planned Parenthood.

You may have heard this much from other media sources, but the story does not end there. The pro-life movement is surging around the world.

During the exchange on the House floor, Congressman Chris Smith read aloud a passage from "Unplanned" -- the bestselling book by former Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson about her conversion during a 40 Days for Life campaign.

The largest ever 40 Days for Life international campaign is on the way! The campaign will run from March 9 to April 17 in 247 cites -- locations from coast to coast in the United States as well as sites in Canada, England, Ireland, Australia, Spain, Georgia, Armenia and Belize.  St. Cloud MN is one of these cities, visit this website for more information.

The Amendment comes after years of uncovering many Planned Parenthood clinics that have been found aiding and abetting underage sex trafficking in many states.

Most recently Lila Rose has recorded several videos at Planned Parenthood clinics across the nation and posting them on YouTube for everyone to see.  Here is Lila’s website.

Here is a video;

Then, just today, with the highest public support against Abortion since 1973 at 70%, Obama praised Planned Parenthood and discarded the Amendment.

When asked about the video by Lila, Obama responded by pointing to other issues that he contended deserved more attention.  What could be more important then the killing of millions of innocent children?

Yet the evidence referenced by Amendment author Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.) cannot be discarded.

"The headlines and years of investigations speak for themselves. In 2002, Parenthood was found civilly liable in Arizona for failure to report statutory rape. In 2008 it violated reporting laws in Indiana and California. In 2009 it instructed a girl in Tennessee to lie about her age so she could get an abortion without her parents' knowledge," he stated.

Obama is wrong about Abortion and is clearly in support of adding to the 50 million children that have been killed by Abortion in America. Obama’s support for Abortion is unforgettable and incompatible with the public support to end Abortion and completely overturn the 1973 Roe vs. Wade decision.  That day is approaching.

House Republicans also have another bill in committee to stop ALL abortion providers from receiving federal funds through the Title X program.  Our God is all powerful and he is listening to our prayers.  Prayer and faith can change any atmosphere.

Social Justice and the Christian Church

This is an illuminating book that throws down the gauntlet to those who wish to capture evangelical Christianity for causes that perpetuate poverty rather than eliminate poverty. Nash shows that the many ideas that are build on socialism result in worsening the conditions of the needy. Nash explains that true ‘social’ justice is found in true love for the needy, which is found in those that are willing to take a deeper look at what really works and what does not. The result is that many today that gather supporters to join their cause to help the poor are actually the reason the poor never escape a life of poverty. Read this book if you truly want to liberate people from poverty.

Life After Death: The Evidence

Life After Death: The Evidence - examines a question most of us ask ourselves and one which all of us should be asking: what comes after we "die"? And by using this method, D’Souza helps us question how we may get closer to the truth about life and mortality. D’Souza attacks the strongest arguments atheists can muster for a materialistic worldview, point by point, to show their arguments as superficial and inadequate to answer the larger questions posed by astrophysics, philosophy, sociology and psychology. If we value our lives and those of others, there is no other issue more important than the one D'Souza brings to life in his new book.

Losing Our Religion: The Liberal Media's Attack on Christianity

S.E. Cupp's book is a response to the continuing attack on Christianity and Christians in America - to deny that it happens is as pathetic as believing that racism doesn't exist. She's funny, smart and passionate. She lays the case out and gives anyone fighting for the same cause plenty of ammunition. As a journalist, she shows how the liberal controlled media is fundamentally attacking Christianity and if not countered, will destroy the nation.

Why You Can’t Stay Silent: A Biblical Mandate to Shape Our Culture

Tom Minnery believes that Christians not only have a mandate to proclaim the gospel, but to see it exemplified in society as well. He believes that we are not really forced with choosing one or the other: either evangelize or do social reform. He says we can and should do both simultaneously. He refutes arguments that Christians shouldn't get involved in "the world" and that the church's primary responsibility is evangelism rather than social activism. The author emphasizes that for too long the church has remained silent regarding the moral decay surrounding it.
