Rejecting The Lord Has Brought Division To Our Nation

Do you consider the United States a nation in unity?  Is our President trying to divide us?  What’s his motive?

For as long as I can remember the United States hasn’t been united. The slavery issue could have been the hardest issue we’ve faced. Religion and politics cause so much arguing that these are considered topics to never bring up in a conversation. It wasn’t always like that. Then there are two different camps: The haves and the have nots. Finally, I’ll discuss what is really going on with our media?

When we first began as a nation no one saw anything wrong with slavery, maybe they were blind to it because it was so common during that era. Once this was exposed and our founding Fathers saw how unjust it was to own a human, the reality of how slaves were not being treated equally they changed the laws. I’m sure there were many who wanted to keep their slaves and their beliefs might not have changed. But this began the racial issue that has been in this nation ever since. It hasn’t helped to unite us, although there is evidence of some progress. After all we have an African American president currently.

Religion in our country started with Christianity. Many denominations are available under this religion. Unfortunately the denominations started from people who couldn’t agree and therefore started another church with a different doctrine. So there isn’t much unity within the Christian Church. Other religions were introduced to us because of other cultures moving here. What attracts so many people groups to the United States is our religious freedom. Thankfully even though there are many religions and denominations here we can still live peacefully.

The haves, (people who have great wealth and businesses) are considered terrible by the media when they are the ones who have created our jobs. Aren’t you aware that to them who have a lot of resources will be given more and for those who do not have many things, what they have will be taken away and given to those who have? This principle is found in the bible in Matthew 13:12 For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him (NKJ). It’s about responsibility, for those who are responsible they should be given more. If one isn’t responsible, why should they be given something they can’t handle?  It’s not money that is evil; it is the love of money that is. So it’s alright to have wealth.

The have nots expect to be helped when it’s more about responsibility. This society seems to reward those who are not working and allow them to eat anyway. It says in 2 Thessalonians 3: 10: For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat. Going hungry is motivation for people to work. This principle in the bible may sound harsh, but it makes sense. When one can have food for free without having to work, this creates laziness and then there is no motivation to work. This could be part of the reason for the obese epidemic in this country.

The old mentality in America used to be where people worked hard to get ahead, were too proud to ask for help, and most were able to tuff it out. It was OK to save for things and wait. So, everyone was responsible for their own behavior. Their mindset was of independence and courage.

The current mentality in America today is that people like freebees, their OK with handouts and expect them. Today there is an entitlement mentality and some have become demanding. Most believe that they should have everything everyone else has without working for it or borrow money for it, so no one has to wait.

People are dependent and cowardly. It’s a “Me” generation and no one has to be responsible for their behavior. If something bad happens to you, run to the courthouse and sue for thousands of dollars or even millions. It’s the blame game that started way back in the beginning of creation in Genesis. Adam blamed Eve, Eve blamed the serpent, and the serpent didn’t have anyone to blame.  Genesis 3: 12-13 The man said, "The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it." Then the Lord God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate (NIV)."

Propaganda is obviously within our media system and our news source is so controlled by the liberals. We no longer have the freedom of the press. We simply can’t trust what we’re being told. It’s best to look outside of traditional news. A good example of this is how Snowden was targeted when we learned about how much the government is spying on its own people. The focus of the media turned to Snowden instead of the way our government is spying on us. Think about what the most important story is. Is it the location of Snowden or we’ve been betrayed and tricked by the government?  Is the media always sending out smokescreens like that to distract us? Thankfully there are other options on the internet. Could it be that Obama and his administration are trying to slowly change the independent mindset to one of dependence in order to create a socialistic society?

The media is motivated by profit and this causes them to sensationalize stories in the news in order to draw attention. For example that might be why they made the Travon Martin case an issue with racism when it really wasn’t? Travon was killed in self defense, but the media made him look like an innocent child. George Zimmerman was Latino and they continued to declare him white. Without the racial card being pulled, it wouldn’t have been an interesting story and no one would have watched it. That’s why the murders which occur every day aren’t given much attention, it’s usually among their own people and it doesn’t make a sensational story. We need more true journalists that are willing to share the news without an agenda. That way our freedom of the press can be restored.

It’s like those who are believe anything goes are in darkness and don’t want to see the light and those living in the light don’t understand why they can’t see. It is stated in John 14:16-1: And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever-17 the spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you (NKJ). My prayer is for the Democrats and the Republicans to unite regardless of what Obama is trying to do.

So what can we do as a nation to become united?  What brings us together?  Unfortunately it is usually a great tragedy that will do this. We’ve seen it over and over again how people will come together and help one another during times of hardship. I hope it doesn’t come to that.

We can pray for all of the Christians to have a personal revival which will motivate a great awakening. This nation needs to have the fear of the Lord restored and an awareness of sin. We all need Jesus Christ as savior. If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJ).

Our land needs healing and we need to learn His ways since our ways have failed. God can transform the hearts and mind of man. God can save a nation in a day!  So let’s pray for a reformation before a revolution is needed. We need to be brave and courageous and speak the truth in love. God is in the miracle working business, we should ask Him for help with our national debt. We need to do things His way. Will our president Barack Obama take up the challenge and lead our nation to repentance and admit we need the Lords help? Let’s pray for a miracle to take place with him. No man or government can fix our problems, we need the Lord.

Still the Best Hope: Why the World Needs American Values to Triumph

In this extraordinary book, Dennis Prager, argues that the global social and political crisis of the 21st century is really an intellectual crisis. That is, a battle of ideas between American values and their alternatives. That is the reality of Christ vs. all other ideas. The knowledge of God is an intellectual substance and sharing it with other people is what changes the world. This book counters what college students are learning today in their Marist classes. America is the greatest nation in the world with the greatest ideas in the world.

America's War on Christianity

There is a war raging in America. On one side sits religion and freedom. On the other side, atheism and Statism. American liberty hangs in the balance. In this timely and well-documented by author Brad O'Leary who takes you deep inside the battle to save our nation's Judeo Christian identity, and with it, our liberty.

Will Our Generation Speak?

At 23 years old, Grace Mally is part of this generation. Her book, Will Our Generation Speak? A Call to be Bold with the Gospel, offers an invigorating challenge to share the gospel boldly. Filled with personal, real-life experiences, this book is practical and compelling. Mally makes a compelling case to young people, addressing the fears we face and excuses we make, and provides vision for being strong for the Lord in our youth. It contains practical ideas of how to begin conversations, how to ask the right questions, defend the gospel, and walk closely with the Lord ourselves.

How Christianity Made the Modern World

The books shows how through century after century, Bible-believing Christians put their faith into action to help those who were unable to help themselves. In an age where Christians are often marginalized and where secular reporters with their warped anti-Christ agenda decry much of what our forefather did or even deny the West's Christian heritage, then this book is refreshing, life-giving and invigorating rain from heaven, soaked in facts, history, testimony and personal observation in country after country and place after place. Christianity is truly responsible for the success of the modern world.
