The Fight Over Jerusalem Reveals Just How Close We Are To the Return of Christ

How is it that the prophet Zechariah who gave a prophesy about the future of Israel thousands a years ago be so relavent to current world events?

Just to be sure he was talking about Irsael, he started with; “A prophecy: The word of the Lord concerning Israel.” – Zechariah 12:1

From their, Zechariah goes on to explain that the Lord who laid the foundations of the earth will restore Israel.

He will make all the nations of the world gather against her so that their survival will be impossible without God’s intervention.  The Lord will do this to make himself known once again to the entire world.

By protecting Israel against impossible odds, the Lord is bringing the world to the understanding that the people of Jerusalem are protected by the Lord Almighty himself.

“The Lord, who stretches out the heavens, who lays the foundation of the earth, and who forms the human spirit within a person, declares: 2 “I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem. 3 On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves. 4 On that day I will strike every horse with panic and its rider with madness,” declares the Lord. “I will keep a watchful eye over Judah, but I will blind all the horses of the nations. 5 Then the clans of Judah will say in their hearts, ‘The people of Jerusalem are strong, because the Lord Almighty is their God.’ “  - Zechariah 12:1-5

No other time in history did this prophesy make much sense, because the nation of Israel didn’t even exist for the last several centuries until 64 years ago when in 1948 the nation of Israel was re-created.

Amazingly the city of Jerusalem was also setup as the Capital City of Israel.  The name “Israel” was not used by any other nation for thousands of years and suddenly the very name given in the bible by many prophecies which were written thousands of years ago is used.

The odds are staggering to consider.

Zechariah is not the only book that talks about the restoration of Israel. Several others give specific details about what will be happening in relation to the nation of Israel and its capital city Jerusalem.

Today every major nation in the world is involved with Israel and Jerusalem is the most contested city in the world.  The battle over the ownership if the city of Jerusalem are raging across the middle-east, just as Zechariah spoke about.

For two thousand years the world discarded prophesies of Ezekiel, Zechariah and Revelations, while using them to discredit the God of the bible and the many other prophesies of the last days.

But now suddenly the Jewish nation has been restored just as predicted and the evident is astonishingly accurate, and because of this the world can no longer ignore what the Lord said He is going to do.

If the bible is completely accurate about the nation of Israel for thousands of years into the future, how can any of its prophesies be ignored?  The fear of the Lord is causing great anxiety among the nations of the world who are eager to attack or divide Jerusalem so that they can once again ignore the Lord.

But He is undeniable.

This is a great time for Christians because the evidence in undeniable that the Lord is at work, making history, directing the nations of the world to fulfill his Words.

Here is a video from Hal Lindsey regarding several prophesies about the nations of the world;

He Is There and He Is Not Silent

In less than 100 pages, Schaeffer distills the essences of the major modern philosophical movements into their most basic parts in the areas of metaphysics, morality, and epistemology--the three critical factors that shape what a person believes and how they will act. He then describes the logical ends of the competing views--such as the utter hopelessness of knowledge stemming from existentialism or the whirling, self-defeating frenzy of what he calls "linguistic analysis." All of the systems Schaeffer examines fall apart on some point, or lead to despair or cynicism. The reason, Schaeffer points out, is all these systems exist to fill a void that is only completely and adequately filled by Christianity. Each exists not beside Christianity, but against it. Schaeffer shows the necessity of belief in a God who is not only their--existing--but not silent--he not only created the world but is constantly involved with it.

The Late Great Planet Earth

The Bible has much to tell you about the imminent future of this planet. In the midst of an out-of-control generation, it reveals a grand design that’s unfolding exactly according to plan. Everything from the rebirth of Israel, the threat of war in the Middle East and an increase in natural catastrophes, the revival of Satanism and witchcraft is in this book. These and other signs, foreseen by prophets from Moses to Jesus, portend the coming of an antichrist and of a war that will bring humanity to the brink of destruction. This amazing book was printed 40 years ago, yet remains one of the best explanations of world events.

The Triumph of Christianity: How the Jesus Movement Became the World's Largest Religion

This is an honest look at how Jesus became the most important person in the history of the world. The story is fascinating because, there is a case to be made that the most important and influential person in the history of mankind was Jesus. There are other contenders, naturally; Buddha and Confucius come to mind, perhaps Muhammad. But the history of Christianity, plus the amazing speed with which it is growing in Africa and Latin America right now, certainly makes Jesus a very serious candidate. So, how did it happen? Up to now, there haven't been many satisfactory answers, unless you are content to admit that Jesus is God.
