The Greatest Revival The World Has Ever Seen

A few days ago I ran across an interesting article in Charisma magazine titled ‘The Real Reason We Don’t See Revival’.

In this article, Jennifer LeClaire asks the questions:

“What gives? Doesn't God want to send revival? Doesn't God want to see the church wake up and rise up? Doesn't God want to see the flood of souls come into the kingdom that results from an awakening?”

Then Jennifer answers the question with:

“I believe the culprit is division, a lack of unity—the absence of harmony. I've long noticed a lack of unity in the body of Christ, especially in my region of South Florida. It has long grieved me.”

Church Division

I think Jennifer is right on target by saying that there is a lot of church division, and that division does not allow the dispersed churches to join forces and defend the nation against the wicked.  The wicked, however, are doing just that, joining forces and using technology like social media to gain influence over every aspect of society.

I don’t have time in this article to show that we are approaching the return of Christ, so I’m going to assume you have studied the end times and have come to this realization.

When I look at the scripture with this in mind, I don’t see a revival in America.  Instead, I find scriptures that point out that we will experience wide church division as we approach the return of Christ.   For example, when the church began, Peter told us that one of the primary strategies of the wicked will be to infiltrate and divide the church.

“But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves.” – 2 Peter 2:1

Peter goes on to say that in the last days, scoffers will come and say things like, “The church is weak and full of division, yet you think Jesus is coming back.  But nothing has happened for thousands of years!”  Here is how Peter says this:

“Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.”  - 2 Peter 3:3-4

So the strategy of the wicked is to weaken and divide the church and then point out the division as a reason to not believe in Christ.  What is amazing to me is that the Lord told us ahead of time that this very thing would happen.  The Lord revealed their exact strategy and he gave us a counter strategy.  Peter goes on to say 'Since you know all of this is going to happen, you do not have to be afraid when you see it, and when it happens, you can be all the more confident that everything else predicted about the Lord will also soon follow.'  Here it is in Peter's words:

“Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position.“ – 2 Peter 3:17

When asking Jesus about his return, he told his disciples a similar thing.

“Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. …  At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.” – Matthew 24:4-10

Revival Is Here

Regarding a national revival in America, I don’t see any scripture pointing that out in the history that has yet to unfold.

What I do see is many individual Christians coming fully aware of what the Lord is doing throughout the world and gaining knowledge about him and his greatness.  I think we are already in the greatest revival the world has ever seen and it will accelerate as we approach his return.

The Lord has already told us how history will unfold. The number of predictions unfolding are increasingly involving the nation of Israel.  When we ask for a revival, what are we really asking for?  We are really asking God to pour out His Spirit and reveal more of Himself to us.

God is doing exactly that - he is revealing himself to the world - by unfolding the history that only he could have predicted. This is perhaps the greatest time in history to watch what the Lord is doing.  Millions of faithful servants that have died before us have only read about what the Lord will do, and we get to see it.

Underneath the headlines, the real church is being united, as the bride of Christ is being prepared, but you will not see it across the major denominations or in the media.  The media will continue to deny that it is happening and use their lies to continue to deny Christ, just as Peter said they would.  But that will not stop those who love the Lord; they will continue to seek him out and gather with others that are hungry for the truth.

If you look for a revival in the news you will be disappointed.  Instead you will find stories of those that have fallen away from the faith, those that call themselves Christians but no longer hold fast to the truth (Matt 24:9).

But don't be deceived, the Lord is doing mighty things unlike what He has ever done before. He is aligning nations, positioning kings, raising nations for war, and bringing the world together against Him and His people all over the world - just as he predicted (Psalm 2:2).

The Lord is moving mightily on the earth and the faithful are making history – standing firm against the increasing influence of the wicked – and giving their testimony before the rulers of the world to be forever recorded in history.

Still the Best Hope: Why the World Needs American Values to Triumph

In this extraordinary book, Dennis Prager, argues that the global social and political crisis of the 21st century is really an intellectual crisis. That is, a battle of ideas between American values and their alternatives. That is the reality of Christ vs. all other ideas. The knowledge of God is an intellectual substance and sharing it with other people is what changes the world. This book counters what college students are learning today in their Marist classes. America is the greatest nation in the world with the greatest ideas in the world.

He Is There and He Is Not Silent

In less than 100 pages, Schaeffer distills the essences of the major modern philosophical movements into their most basic parts in the areas of metaphysics, morality, and epistemology--the three critical factors that shape what a person believes and how they will act. He then describes the logical ends of the competing views--such as the utter hopelessness of knowledge stemming from existentialism or the whirling, self-defeating frenzy of what he calls "linguistic analysis." All of the systems Schaeffer examines fall apart on some point, or lead to despair or cynicism. The reason, Schaeffer points out, is all these systems exist to fill a void that is only completely and adequately filled by Christianity. Each exists not beside Christianity, but against it. Schaeffer shows the necessity of belief in a God who is not only their--existing--but not silent--he not only created the world but is constantly involved with it.

The Magnificent Goodness of God and How it Will Transform Your Life

The goodness of God is one of the most revolutionary truths of the Bible, but our generation has lost faith in the goodness of God. The image you carry in your heart of God and what He is like will dramatically affect your life, character, and destiny. Anyone who has been touched with the goodness of God cannot come away the same. The devil works tirelessly to keep the truth of the goodness of God lost in the mindset of this world, and marshals all of his forces to cause confusion about the true character of our God.
