The Remarkable Success Of Israel’s Iron Dome And How It Forever Changes The Conflict

ISRAEL - There have been a lot of interesting events going on in the last eight days in the Israel-Hamas conflict. I wish I had time to write about several of them, but one of the most interesting to me was the success of Israel's aerial defense system, called  – The Iron Dome.

The Iron Dome is a set of computerized rockets positioned as a perimeter around the major cities within Israel. These computerized rocket systems are capable of detecting and shooting down incoming rockets.

Israel’s Iron Dome has been under development for the last few years, and until now, has not proven to be successful.

No nation in the world has anything even close to the Iron Dome technology.  During the last eight days, the Iron Dome has proven to have a 90% success rate of taking out incoming rockets.  This is unheard of in modern aerial defense systems.

The Iron Dome has rendered Hamas’ single biggest weapon – the rocket – almost useless.

Israel Surrounded

To give you a visual, here is a picture of Israel, with Hamas to the south in the Gaza Strip and Hezbollah to the North in Lebanon.  Both are funded and controlled by Iran.

Hamas' military strategy in this eight-day conflict was probably to test their long range rockets, some of which were able to hit Tel Aviv, the second largest city in Israel.

Hezbollah to the north also exchanged fire with Israel, perhaps just to keep Israel's defense spread out and to test how they would handle an attack on multiple fronts.

From my understanding, the Iron Dome is setup towards the south. Here is a picture of what it may look like. Each blue dot is a Iron Dome computerized rocket system. Together they form a virtual Dome over the population.

The success of the Iron Dome is a big problem for Hamas, because Hamas fired over 1000 rockets, yet they didn't do much damage to Israel because the Iron Dome shot most of them down.  Hamas may have helped Israel more than they hurt them because the 1000 rockets helped to advance the design of the Iron Dome technology.  So much so that Israel is planning to extend the Iron Dome to completely surround the nation of Israel in the next few years.

Here is a picture of what it might look like in a few years. The blue line is the Iron Dome.

If Israel was able to perfect the Iron Dome and install it to completely surround the nation in the next few years, then Hamas, Hezbollah, and even Iran will not be able to destroy Israel by rockets.

This may render Iran’s nuclear missile ambitions useless.

Funny how Bible prophecy fits into this.  In the book of Ezekiel, chapter 37, Israel is reborn as a nation and God says he will make them a great nation.

“14 I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken, and I have done it, declares the Lord.’”

“21 and say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land. 22 I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel.”

The Lord will also make them a mighty army.

“10 … stood up on their feet—a vast army.”

But in chapter 38 there will be a larger army that will advance against them. So large in numbers that it will cover the land like a cloud.

“16 You will advance against my people Israel like a cloud that covers the land.”

Now if Israel could be destroyed by a nuclear missile from Iran, then there would be no need for a vast number of people to attack by ground.

The success of the Iron Dome changes the war strategy, right in line with Ezekiel's prophetic scenario, because the Iron Dome makes a ground invasion the only option to defeat Israel. And because Israel's ground forces are also very powerful, it will take a large army to even threaten to overtake them.

Make no mistake, the Lord is brilliant and he is unfolding history just like he said he would.

Here is a video with the Israel defense minister explaining the success and future plans of the Iron Dome.

Defending Inerrancy: Affirming the Accuracy of Scripture for a New Generation

The doctrine of inerrancy has been standard, accepted teaching for more than 1,000 years, until recently it has come under fire. Apologist and bestselling author Norman L. EpicCenter 2.0: Why the Current Rumblings in the Middle East Will Change Your Future

Epicenter: Why the Current Rumblings in the Middle East Will Change Your Future, is a book about Middle East conflicts centered on Israel. This is an unforgettable journey through prophecy and current events into the future of Iraq after Saddam, Russia after Communism, Israel after Arafat, and Christianity after radical Islam. The central theme of the book is the literal fulfillment of the prophecies of Ezekiel in chapters 37/38. The author takes these prophecies, and tries to interpret them in light of current world events.

The Late Great Planet Earth

The Bible has much to tell you about the imminent future of this planet. In the midst of an out-of-control generation, it reveals a grand design that’s unfolding exactly according to plan. Everything from the rebirth of Israel, the threat of war in the Middle East and an increase in natural catastrophes, the revival of Satanism and witchcraft is in this book. These and other signs, foreseen by prophets from Moses to Jesus, portend the coming of an antichrist and of a war that will bring humanity to the brink of destruction. This amazing book was printed 40 years ago, yet remains one of the best explanations of world events.

He Is There and He Is Not Silent

In less than 100 pages, Schaeffer distills the essences of the major modern philosophical movements into their most basic parts in the areas of metaphysics, morality, and epistemology--the three critical factors that shape what a person believes and how they will act. He then describes the logical ends of the competing views--such as the utter hopelessness of knowledge stemming from existentialism or the whirling, self-defeating frenzy of what he calls "linguistic analysis." All of the systems Schaeffer examines fall apart on some point, or lead to despair or cynicism. The reason, Schaeffer points out, is all these systems exist to fill a void that is only completely and adequately filled by Christianity. Each exists not beside Christianity, but against it. Schaeffer shows the necessity of belief in a God who is not only their--existing--but not silent--he not only created the world but is constantly involved with it.
