1 Corinthians 6:19

"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; "

This verse tells us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in us, which we have received from God. We are not our own.

We cannot do what we want with our bodies, because they are not ours.

A few verses before we read, "I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial." ... "The body, however, is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body." 1 Corinthians 6:12-18

This passage tells us that sexual immorality is different from other sins because it is against our own body in which we take with us where ever we go. We cannot get away from the sin because we cannot get away from our body and so we are constantly reminded of the sin we have committed. For this reason sexual immorality causes more mental anguish then other sins. Likewise sexual immorality leads to a higher rate of suicide.
