ISIS brings bible prophecies back into focus

The bible includes many prophecies that have yet to unfold.

Prophetic wars are particularly challenging to explain because modern military technology has advanced beyond the weapons listed in the scriptures.

For example, Rev 14:20 talks about a time when the nations will be gathers into a massive war and their blood will be spread out for two hundred miles.

“... the great wine press of the wrath of God. And the wine press was trodden outside the city, and blood came out from the wine press, up to the horses' bridles, for a distance of two hundred miles.”

Modern military warfare makes this seem unlikely that soldiers would gather together using hand to hand combat with swords.

Then came ISIS.  ISIS is killing people by the thousands with old fashion weapons that are thought to be out of use, like knives and swords.   And they are executing people by beheadings and crucifixions, which are also listed in end time passages.

In an article on the Christians Post, we read:

“ISIS executed over 700 Iraqi soldiers in Tikrit in June of 2014 and the blood soaked ground was visible with satellite imagery.

The amazing photos were published by the Daily Mail on Thursday and show mass execution sites which tripled the initial death toll estimated by experts. The photos helped build a case to prosecute two dozen ISIS militants implicated in the massacre, while hundreds are still at large.”
