Sin is a terminal illness and Christ is the only antidote, we are dead if we don’t take it

The world will tell us that God is the bad guy. That He is out to get us. That He is looking for ways to accuse us and punish us.

But in reality it is just the opposite.  The world is out to get us, they are that one’s accusing us.  The devil is the accuser.  “For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night” – Rev 12:20

God is holy and just. He is the one that is pursuing us with love for his creation.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16

Because of Adam’s sin, we are all born sinners facing a legal death sentence.  This is why Christ came to earth, to pay our legal death sentence in our place.

“When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. 15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.”  – Colossians 2:13-15

We are born with sin in our hearts.  It is our natural instinct to reject God and follow our own way of thinking.  It seems like the right thing to do.

“There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.” – Proverbs 12:15

The only way out of this earth alive is to believe in Christ so that his death takes our place.
