When people are in danger- love does not stand by to watch

Love is an action, a willingness to give up something or to go out of our way to help someone – regardless if they realize they need it or not.

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8

Did you get that last part?  While we were telling him we don’t want to hear it, he went out of his way to tell us anyway even though it cost him his life.

Today, many people are confused about what love is.  The postmodern media and culture have redefined ‘love’ to be about what people want to do, what they can get from someone else.  And anyone that tells them different is hating them.

Thankfully, this is not true.  This is not the definition of love, as God showed us in Romans 5:8 and 1 John 3:16.

We have the wrong definition of love, which is why Jesus showed us the real definition.

“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.” – 1 John 3:16

Real love is doing something to warn people of the danger they are approaching.  The opposite is to go along with the lie, to affirm them in their desire - even when they don't realize it.
